Welcome to the first installment of Promotional Success Stories, a new series for the InkHead blog. We wanted to talk with some of our customers about the business challenges they have overcome. In this first tale of triumph, find out how a disaster response agency found an effective way to stay visible for an enormous medical community.
A quick response is essential when a disaster strikes, and medical professionals count on organizations like the SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) to deliver prompt leadership in a crisis.
SETRAC is a non-profit agency out of Houston, contracted by the state of Texas to provide training, support, and guidance to the medical community during a disaster. In the event of an emergency, SETRAC is responsible for the evacuation of 300 medical facilities, over 750 nursing homes, and thousands of homebound medical patients.
Needless to say, it’s crucial for healthcare workers to maintain easy access to the region’s authority on disaster preparedness and response.
“When it’s ‘go time,’ medical staff have been advised to contact us,” says SETRAC Emergency Management Coordinator Misty Worrell, “and nobody can spare a moment to search for a phone number.”
To supply stakeholders with an easy and instant way to reach SETRAC, Misty and her team distribute custom mouse pads emblazoned with the company’s contact information. This practical desktop staple has provided a reliable point of reference and peace of mind to those needing the information.
According to Misty, they “wanted to eliminate a potential stress point during an emergency, and these products have done that.”
Furthermore, SETRAC has boosted their brand recognition by distributing products like mouse pads and personalized highlighters, and donning custom polo shirts at public events. Misty admits the federal government’s grant guidelines are a challenge to establishing a brand within the communities they serve, but promotional products have proven helpful in creating a brand identity within those constraints.
