Welcome to InkHead’s inaugural Monthly Event Calendar! Each month, I will post a list of the month-long observances taking place, along with a few ideas for promotional product tie-ins. I realize we’re a little behind this month, so I’ll just dive right in. Hereafter, the Monthly Event Calendar will be posted on the first business day of each month. Tomorrow, I will start the yang to this series’s yin, our new Monthly Holiday Calendar series, which will highlight specific days of the month that will complement your next promotion or giveaway. After all, Thanksgiving is only one day out of the month.
In line with the Great American Smokeout occurring 11/18, November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Awareness Month, so why not get some lung-shaped stress balls for your next promotion?
Perhaps my favorite November observance is Movember, wherein men grow their mustaches to raise money in support of men’s health, primarily in the way of testicular and prostate cancer research. You can learn more about the event by watching the video below.
Once Movember has passed, however, many of those newly-christened Tom Sellecks who grew their mustaches will want to shave them. What better way to show your appreciation for their participation by giving them a new Custom Personal Care Kit?
In addition to the events mentioned already, November is also Native American Heritage Month, National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, and International Drum Month, so feel free to shop our catalog to find a great item to use in conjunction with any of those observances, too!
Like most awareness campaigns, there is a corresponding ribbon color for other November observances. For instance, if you’re thinking of observing Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, or Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Awareness Month, then consider ordering some custom Purple Awareness Ribbons for your cause.
If you plan to recognize Lung Cancer Awareness month, you should think about ordering some White Awareness Ribbons.
Finally, for those of you planning to promote Diabetes Awareness, look for Gray Ribbons. If you can’t find gray ribbons, then think about ordering some Custom Sugar-Free Mints or candies.
A promotional product is a great way to show your support of a certain cause while still giving your brand a chance to make an impression with potential customers or clients. As I already mentioned, the Monthly Event Calendar’s sister post, the Monthly Holiday Calendar, will come out tomorrow, so be sure to check back to learn about upcoming holidays and event days. Finally, make sure you come back on 12/1 to find out about December’s monthly observances!
Did I miss an event? Have a good idea for a promotional tie-in with one of these events? Tell me about it in the comments!
