How Will You Celebrate Memorial Day?
Memorial Day is just around the corner, coming this year on May 30th. Memorial Day, a day set aside to remember and honor the lives of men and women who have lost their lives while serving in the US Armed Services, has been recognized in some form or fashion since the end of the Civil War. The day took on greater significance following World War I and World War II.

Back then, each state had their own Memorial Day or Decoration Day, as it was also known. Over time, states eventually settled on Memorial Day as the name for the day, but it was not until 1967 that federal law officially declared the name to be “Memorial Day.” Prior to the enactment of the Uniform Holiday Act in 1971, the day was celebrated on May 5/30. The law moved the day to be celebrated on the last Monday in May, thereby creating a three-day holiday for workers and students.

Because of this, Memorial Day has gone from being a day of sober reflection on the lives of our soldiers to being a day of barbecues, beach trips, and fireworks. What’s more, the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 auto races are traditionally held on Memorial Day weekend. While the day was meant as an opportunity for Americans to revere their fallen heroes, it has become the unofficial start to summer.

Promotional Products for Memorial Day

However you choose to celebrate Memorial Day, InkHead has a promotional product that will work for your business. If you choose to view Memorial Day as more of the kickoff to the summer season, take a look at the post I made yesterday, 10 Hot Products for a Cool Summer Promotion. If you consider Memorial Day as an opportunity to celebrate our country and her soldiers, take a look at these products.

Patriotic Stress Balls

Show your love of country with one of our many patriotic stress balls. The item pictured here features a pad imprint and will help customers let off steam at the office or home. Remember, stress relievers are not intended for use by children under 3 years or age, and make sure to keep them away from pets, too.

Custom Camouflage Apparel

Lest we forget, Memorial Day is all about soldiers. Why not remind your customers of this fact with a custom camouflage cap or promotional camouflage t-shirt? The 6-panel, low profile caps shown here is 100% cotton twill, features an unstructured crown and a pre-curved visor. The safety orange sandwich bill accent will keep your customers (and your brand) visible in low lighting.

Other Patriotic Promotional Items

If you’re looking for a patriotic promotional item, the best place to start is by viewing our selection of Government and Politics Promotional Products. There, you will find a wide selection of red, white, and blue goods to review. If, however, you do not find what you are seeking there, search the site using terms like “patriotic” or “red-white-blue.”

Alternatively, phone us at 800-554-0127 any time between 9 AM and 8 PM ET, Monday through Friday. Our Promotions Specialists are intimately familiar with the InkHead catalog and can point you to the perfect item for your Memorial Day promotional event.

The Bottom Line

Even though Memorial Day is just around the corner, there is still plenty of time to order your Memorial Day Promotional Products. Whether you are looking for a product that shows your patriotism or a product that will prepare your customers for the summer months ahead, you can count on InkHead to deliver.
