Hurray for Opening Day!Posted March 31, 2011 | Tips and Trends from the Experts
Today, one of my favorite days of the year, marks the first day of games for the teams of Major League Baseball. Maybe it’s the fresh faces and the clean slates, but I love watching the first two months of baseball. People like to say that baseball is a game of attrition; it’s less about how you fare early in the season and more about how long your team lasts throughout the season.
While that aphorism generally applies to the teams themselves, I find that my attention span attrits as the seasons goes on, too. I start the season with high expectations, excited to watch games almost every day, but by the All-Star break, a game barely holds my interest—even when reduced to a 10-second clip on SportsCenter.
That said, the first three months of baseball are great fun. There’s something wonderfully idyllic about catching a businessman’s special on a Wednesday afternoon in May. The weather’s still cool, the crowd is full of baseball purists, and there is still hope for every team that they will play in the playoffs come October.
Baseball Products from InkHead
In light of the 2011 kickoff to America’s pastime, I thought it only fitting that we take a look at some of the different custom baseball-related products InkHead carries.
First up to bat are promotional baseball caps—possibly the most recognizable part of a player’s uniform, given that the baseball cap serves as the canvas for each baseball team’s logo. As one of the most popular types of promotional product, promotional caps can similarly put your own company’s logo on display, which could potentially lead to more business for you. In fact, a single a cap customized with your logo can generate over 100 s per month, second only to promotional bags and shirts.
Speaking of promotional shirts, InkHead has several promotional jerseys, such as the Champion Button Front Baseball Jersey, which you can customize with a single-color screen imprint. The 100% garment would be perfect for the entirely of the baseball season: a garment warm enough to wear as a layer during the spring months but light enough to comfortably cover the bulbous bellies of beer-swillers during those interminable summer months.
Remember that this item is subject to availability, so it may not be in stock at the time of your order. If that’s the case, please see the our full selection of Custom Logo T-Shirts or give us a call at 800-554-0127 anytime between 9 AM and 8 PM ET Monday through Friday. Our team of Promotions Specialists can locate a suitable replacement for you, as well as answer any other questions you may have.
As the baseball season wears on and the wheat separates from the chaff, many of the most ardent fans become inconsolable once they’ve realized that their team has been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Once, my brother swore off watching the Atlanta Braves for an entire year after one of their particularly epic collapses just before the post-season. Maybe I could have helped heal those wounds with a small gift like a baseball stress ball.
The Bottom Line
With the NFL’s 2011 season in jeopardy, many people will be giving more of their attention to baseball this year. Why not try to connect with these individuals by getting some baseball-related Promotional Items for your business? A Customized Baseball Cap or a Promotional Raglan Jersey will show your customers that you know how to play ball.
