Thinking Outside the Bag

Posted March 3, 2011  |  written by  |  Promotional Products, Tips and Trends from the Experts

Business Promotional Products such as personalized pens or promotional calculators can sometimes be dry, but they don’t have to be. A friend recently sent us some pictures of companies that have used Custom Plastic Bags and Personalized Promotional Paper Bags to exciting (and in some cases, disturbing) effect. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Promotional Paper Bags

This bag from the German firm Fitness Company shows that a woman can pump iron while still doing her shopping.

Imprinted Paper Bags

Not sure which company designed this bag, perhaps a salon? Either way, the bag's striking image of a woman being held by her Heidi-esque braids is sure to resonate with passers-by for more than a moment.

Custom Plastic Bags

This bag adds new meaning to the term "headhunter," featuring a decapitated and slightly zombified head. Again, people who happen to see the bag are almost sure to ask its owner for more information on the company.

Logo Paper Bags

Our last bag comes from design firm YKM and features a figure jumping rope, with the jump rope also serving as the bag's handle. Pretty nifty, huh?

Why Promotional Bags?

It’s worth noting here that Custom Printed Bags such as those featured above can generate over 1000 views a month, depending on how frequently they’re used. This information comes to us from the ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute), a thought-leader in the promotional products industry, by virtue of their latest Advertising Specialies Impression Study, which uncovers what promotional items are most effective and which ones aren’t as effective.

What could that 1000 extra impressions every month do for your business? Remember, that’s from just one person. Let’s extrapolate that a little bit. If you were to buy 500 promotional bags, you could ratchet up tens of thousands new views for your business, group, or organization—all while spending less than a penny for each one.

The Bottom Line

There are a lot of ways to promote your business. You can go the old-fashioned route and advertise via print ads, billboards, or airplanes, but here at InkHead Promotional Products, we challenge you to think outside the box…or the bag, as it were. Who knows what could happen! If you have a suggestion on a cool design for an Imprinted Paper Bag or a Wholesale Vinyl Bag, let me know about it in the comments! I’d love to hear your ideas.
