Red Dawgs Draw Against Sting Gold

It’s Tuesday, so that means it’s time for your InkHead Soccer update!

Last Time…

Before the Red Dawgs went on break for Thanksgiving, they had just slipped from first to third in the league table after having lost a close match to Melchester Wings, so they were out for redemption and a shot to retake their place atop the standings in this week’s game against Sting Gold. The fans braving the blustery December conditions were treated to 90 action-packed minutes of soccer that ended in a stalemate between these two evenly-matched teams.

First Half

At the outset of the game, InkHead were playing with gusto, almost scoring in the first 15 minutes, but Sting Gold were able to keep up with the Red Dawgs and countered each of InkHead’s strikes with one of their own. It wasn’t until the 38th minute when Red Dawg substitute Sean Richardson scored almost immediately after having come on to the pitch. Following the goal, Sting Gold let their frustration get the better of them and began to hassle each call of the referee that went against them until the half expired shortly thereafter.

Second Half

By the time the second half started, Sting Gold’s emotions had cooled, and they scored shortly into the new half, capitalizing on a bit of confusion between a Red Dawg defender and the keeper. Following the goal, momentum swung like a pendulum to either side: if one team would threaten, the other one would counter with pressure of its own. When InkHead scored in the 75th minute, it looked as though they may have had the game in their control, but Sting Gold was able to strike back with a quick goal following a missed clearance from a Red Dawg defender. Following Sting Gold’s second goal, the game evened out, and neither team was able to capitalize on a mistake of the other team.

What’s Next

Though both teams earned a point with the tie, neither changes position in the league table. Looking forward to next week, the Red Dawgs take on first-place B&H International. the outcome of this game will do much to determine who will be the league-leader going into the holiday break. Good luck to the Red Dawgs! Everyone here at InkHead Promotional Products is excited for you!
